Budget 2019-2020 & 2020-2021 (Item 4.0)

Joe provided an overview of the budget. The underspend is due to no significant clearance work being needed, this can be carried over. The construction planned for next year will spend the reserve amount available.

Waipapa Industrial Estate by-pass & Whiriwhiritoa Stream Upgrade (Item 5.0)

Presented by: River and Natural Hazards Manager

Upgrade will focus on widening the stream channel and building a new bridge. Flood modelling has now been completed.

Waitotara Drive will involve infilling low areas of existing berms. Communication with affected residents will start shortly when final design work is underway.

Kerikeri Dam – K3A (Item 6.0)

Dam proposal is for flood mitigation and water storage – costs aren’t beneficial for only flood mitigation, need to establish if there is a requirement for further water storage – current constraints is water distribution network, not storage. Environmental impacts would also need to be investigated.

·                Engage with FNDC regarding 30 year Infrastructure Strategy  and potential growth in the area. If required, investigate likelihood of gaining resource consent. - Joe

 

Updated Flood Maps (Item 7.0)

Presented by: River and Natural Hazards Manager

Flood maps have been updated to incorporate new LiDAR data, there are no significant changes, mostly fixing small anomalies. Climate change projections have been taken in to account.

No maps can be found on NRC website.
