FNDC mapping for the Waipapa commercial / industrial zone in the Notified Proposed District Plan (Item 3.6)

Presented by: Lower Puketotara and Kerikeri Catchment Representative, Fred Terry

Discussion was had in regard to FNDC’s proposed district plan and how the group could make a submission in support of Fred Terry’s submission.  The group would like to caution FNDC in expanding the industrial zone (which is in a known flood area), without the protection or mitigation of the downstream catchment.

The following recommendation is to be tabled.

“FNDC and NRC include in their LTP’s for further investigation into the K3A detention dam to mitigate flooding of the Waipapa industrial estate and all downstream properties that may be affected (to reference Riley Consultants report: Proposed Kerikeri K3A Dam Concept Design and Costing).”
