Draft Regional Land Transport Plan 2021/2027 - Three Year Review - Update (Item 7.1)

Recommendation(s)

1.        That the report ‘Draft Regional Land Transport Plan 2021/2027 - Three Year Review - Update’ by Chris Powell, Transport Manager - Northland Transportation Alliance and Michael Payne, Policy Specialist and dated 15 May 2024, be received.

2.        That the Regional Transport Committee formally approve the Draft Regional Land Transport Plan 2021/2027 (RLTP) – Three Year Review Deliberations Spreadsheets detailing the direction given by the Regional Transport Committee for each written and verbal submission received.

3.        That the Regional Transport Committee approve staff to make the necessary amendments to Strategic Front End and the Funding Request spreadsheets of the Draft Regional Land Transport Plan 2021/2027 (RLTP) – Three Year Review in response to submissions received and in accordance with the Regional Transport Committee’s direction.

4.        That the Regional Transport Committee delegate the Chairman the authority to approve any changes made in accordance with Recommendation 3 above.

5.        That the Regional Transport Committee approve a Special Meeting be held between 1-5 July 2024 to: -

a.        Adopt the Regional Land Transport Plan 2021/2027 (RLTP) – Three Year Review.

b.        To refer Regional Land Transport Plan 2021/2027 (RLTP) – Three Year Review to the Northland Regional Council with a recommendation it be approved and submitted to NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi by no later than 1 August 2024.

6.        That the Regional Transport Committee acknowledges that the targeted consultation undertaken between 15 - 29 May 2024 was required as a result of the amendments made to the State Highway Safety Programme.
