· A request that an FNDC councillor should be attending these meetings as roading is discussed regularly as an issue

· The removal of Fiona Robinson and additions of Nyze Manuel, Les Jackson and Thomas Hawtin to the committee were moved by Bruce Mills and seconded by Michael Hayes, all agreed.

Resolution from the Committee on Kaeo Stage 2 Flood Work (Item 3.4)

Agreed action points:

· NRC to continue with land purchasing and activities relating to the implementation of Stage 2 flood works.

· NRC Rivers Project Manager to provide rough numbers for maintenance of Kaeo Stage 2 at the next meeting

Secretarial notes: Discussion addressed whether benching might achieve the objective for better value, and whether clearing between Omanu road and the harbour would be the priority. It was pointed out that $1.2 million Government contribution is earmarked for the Stage 2 proposal only, to protect the town, by moving the confluence of the Waikara stream and Kaeo River further toward the Harbour, thereby lowering (normal) flood levels. The funding must be spent before the end of the financial year.

NRC resolution from the committee for Kaeo Stage 2 to procced: 4 votes yes, 1 vote no, 1 vote abstained.

Michael Hayes abstained from the vote on the resolution for Kaeo Stage 2 due to a conflict of interest with him being a landowner in the scheme.

Comments from the committee around maintenance, the costs of maintenance of the project site-weeding etc.
